BRADLEY S. THOMAS, ESQ. – MEDIATION & ARBITRATION
Brad Thomas was a civil litigation lawyer for over 40 years before becoming a full time mediator in 2018. As a trial lawyer, Mr. Thomas attended hundreds of mediations throughout California while representing both plaintiffs and defendants and tried over 100 jury trials. It is this experience that he brings to the mediation setting. Mr. Thomas was invited to become one of the original mediators for the Third District Court of Appeal’s appellate mediation program and received extensive training as a mediator through that program. In addition, Mr. Thomas has completed the highly regarded and intensive mediation training at Pepperdine Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution.
Mr. Thomas has represented clients across broad spectrum of litigation including personal injury, employment termination/discrimination/retaliation, insurance coverage and bad faith, construction defect, professional negligence, elder abuse and business/contract disputes.
Mr. Thomas has a long association with ABOTA. He served as president of the Sacramento Valley ABOTA Chapter and one term on the Board of Directors for CAL-ABOTA. Mr. Thomas has been honored as recipient of the Chapter’s Trial Lawyer of the Year and, most recently, identified as a “legend”. The publication, Sacramento Business Journal, included Mr. Thomas in its annual designation of Best of the Bar.
Mr. Thomas represented one of the parties involved in six published appellate court decisions, including one California Supreme Court decision.
In 2018, Mr. Thomas was invited to become one of the panel mediators with Judicate West. In that capacity, he serves as a neutral in both Northern and Southern California. Consistent with his broad litigation background, Mr. Thomas assists parties resolve litigated disputes arising from a wide array of subjects. He also serves as an arbitrator for both first party and third party cases.
